Professional Experience
Mercedes joined Thede Culpepper in 2015. Her practice includes estate and trust planning, marital agreements, and estate and trust administration. Prior to joining Thede Culpepper, Mercedes was an extern for Crook County Counsel, where she worked on all aspects of municipal law. She subsequently worked under Professor Vollmar at Willamette University's legal clinic as an estate planner. In 2011, Mercedes joined Stahancyk, Kent & Hook, PC as a law clerk and became an associate after passing the Bar exam. Her four years at Stahancyk, Kent & Hook, PC included work on complex litigation cases involving marital agreements or gifted and inherited assets.
Professional Activities
Mercedes is a member of the Oregon State Bar Estate Planning and Administration Section,
as well as the Taxation Section.
Civic and Community Activities
Mercedes serves on the Aurora City Council, North Marion Services Team Steering Committee, and
S.M.A.R.T. Legacy Council.
Education
After attending South Eugene International High School in Eugene, Oregon, Mercedes earned her B.A. in American Studies from Queen's University Belfast in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is a graduate of Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon (J.D.).
Personal Activities
Mercedes met her husband in Belfast, Ireland and they regularly travel abroad with their two sons.
Mercedes enjoys the company of her family and friends here and in Ireland and the privilege of being alongside her children as they discover the world.
